It's so hard to talk to people about it though. I guess I get sad in seeing that people would rather remain oblivious to what is happening around us, with food and cruelty at least. (But turn on the news for five seconds and you get your monthly dose of stupid violence...)

Anyway! I wasn't intending to rant. I really like your blog, and I can't wait to try recipe after recipe!cuzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10679660996991886523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637164109814005363.post-59163194264597633072010-07-14T18:20:36.160-04:002010-07-14T18:20:36.160-04:00I couldn't agree with you more! Health and the Environment are additional reasons, but the cruelty to animals is simply inexcusable. And I would also have more respect for people if they actually made those educated decisions about their food...Bechttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00433188630559300644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637164109814005363.post-60592299802933723642010-03-14T11:18:28.836-04:002010-03-14T11:18:28.836-04:00A good podcast on this subject is "food for t...A good podcast on this subject is "food for thought" she gives really good responces and ways to approach people without being preachy....
I also like her because she gives enough info to be direct with out getting too graphic.... Yeah, I don't imagine you would have a lot of options as far as dining out in Oklahoma. That's pretty much why cooking has become such a love of mine, out of necessity. But I've found that going vegan is probably one of the easiest decisions I've ever made. And trust me, you can definitely get by on simple recipes without skimping on flavor. Thanks for checking out the blog! :)s.m.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05490461409715362354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637164109814005363.post-27412861311834632862010-03-13T18:39:17.894-05:002010-03-13T18:39:17.894-05:00Great blog, Sammi! I don't know if I can stomach the movie (the preview was intense - more than any video I have ever seen). I have been vegetarian for 4 years (one of which is vegan), and am thinking about going back. It's so hard in Oklahoma, but I'm learning and these recipes seem so easy! Thank you!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16261207292254095722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637164109814005363.post-30410542489839589192010-02-22T18:24:10.014-05:002010-02-22T18:24:10.014-05:00I can’t explain how important it is to watch “Eart...I can’t explain how important it is to watch “Earthlings”. Viewing it last night profoundly affected me. I can’t find words that approach the impact of the images in the film. To see the effects of practices happening right now, all of the excruciating unnecessary pain, as well as the environmental disasters it touches on, left me stunned. Even if these are issues that someone feels s/he already has a grasp on, this is essential, though painful, viewing. I’ve never seen a documentary as graphic, and in that way, truthful, as this one about the subject. Thank you for the post.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18170513488654637032noreply@blogger.com
